Advent and Christmas are both such rich seasons in the Church but are unfortunately overshadowed at times by commercialism on one end and clichéd platitudes on the other. Dr. Foote aims to bring the Nativity story—and consequently our participation in the season—back to reality. Get ready to clear away the distractions and gain keen, historical insight for renewed prayer and reflection this Advent and Christmas.
Dr. David Foote is a Nativity parishioner and professor of Catholic Studies at the
University of St. Thomas
. He received B.A. and M.A. degrees from the
University of Florida
and a Ph.D. in History from University of California, Davis. He specializes in Medieval Italy and the Medieval Church.
