Since Ash Wednesday, Nativity School students have been participating in a Lenten journey of prayer, reflection, and service. This week, students in second through eighth grade will have the opportunity to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation, and all students participated in the Stations of the Cross twice this Lent.
The students also will be participating in charitable projects, including:
- Last Saturday, Nativity parish hosted a Family Service morning in the School Cafeteria (pictured at right and on the April 2 bulletin cover). Several organizations hosted work stations with an array of different service projects. The event drew students, parents, and grandparents!
- Last week, the girl scouts ran a school food drive while coordinating efforts with our parish community for a parish-wide food drive to help Keystone, our neighborhood food shelf. Thanks to parishioners and students alike for this successful collection for those in need.
- Finally, all students were invited to participate in the “Fill the Ark” coin collection for Heifer International, a charity organization working to end hunger and poverty around the world by providing livestock and training to struggling communities.
