Hello Nativity of Our Lord parishioners! My name is Jacob O’Meara and I am in my third year as a seminarian for the Archdiocese of Saint Paul Minneapolis.
I was excited to learn a short time ago that I have been assigned to spend two weeks with you here at Nativity as part of the Saint Paul Seminary’s “Parish Experience” program.
Although it is such a brief time, I am excited to see what God has in store, as this will be my first experience of spending time at a parish as a seminarian. My first day with you is this Sunday, January 7, and my assignment concludes on Saturday, January 20.
I am the oldest of eight and grew up in Harris, Minnesota, near the north edge of the Archdiocese. I graduated from high school in 2016 and attended the University of Mary in Bismarck, North Dakota, where I received a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering with a minor in Catholic Studies. After I graduated, I felt God’s call to enter seminary, and did so the following year, in 2021.
In my free time I enjoy hiking, chess, anything frisbee-related, and following the Minnesota sports teams.
Please pray for me throughout these two weeks, and moving forward, as I seek to follow God’s plan for my life!
